Never in his twenty-four years did Mark Cohen every expect to be teaching anything. No, that was Collins expertise, and he did not make it sound like a fun time. More like a horror story, and he was a COLLEGE professor. Mark couldn't imagine how much worse high schoolers must be. He thought back to his high school days, but he figured he wasn't really a good model. He had been the student that all the teachers loved and all the students hated. So he thought about Roger's high school career. He had spent most of it slacking off and screwing the teachers to get A's. Ah. Yes. That must be how must normal teenagers were.
But for some reason his mother had talked him into attending school again for something, and it had been, in the end, teaching. Then the principal of this boarding school from Godfrey had offered him a job as a film teacher, and he would have been stupid to turn it down. Especially with everyone coupled up back home. He was the odd man out, and it had actually been nice to be offered a chance to start over, with salary. Actual money.
So, he had agreed. And now he was here. About to have his first actual class. He was slightly freaked out. He was supposed to show his film. His. Today 4 U. About Angel. God, he missed Angel. And all of his friends. He really did. He closed his eyes, and in a moment of religion that was not common for any of his friends, sent a silent prayer up to the drag queen.
'Hey Ang. It's me. Mark. But you know that. Um, I just want you to know I miss you, and I know everyone else does too, especially Collins and I just wanted you to know that I'm about to have my first class as an actual teacher and could use your help. Like, give me a song to sing or something? Love you and miss you more then you probably know...' He felt slightly weird talking to a dead guy in his head, but it was... nice. It calmed him down, at least. "Okay, let the show begin."

It was weird that Star was really excited to start going to this new school. She hadn't been excited about anything since she saw her parents killed. Every time she closed her eyes it was like a bad movie playing that she just couldn't get rid of no matter how hard she tried. It was her first day of school and she was most excited about film class and music class. She had taken a few more uppers then she normally did which made it more bearable to sit threw her aunt dressing her up for her first day of a fancy school. Once she looked in the mirror she realized she really didnt look that bad and she admired her aunts attempts at making her look good. Though once at school she did trade the pink lip gloss for a deeper darker red one and made her curls a little less tame.
She almost bounced to her locker and shoved her stuff inside of it but kept her guitar case on her back, her camera bag in her hand and a binder under the other. The next thing she needed to invest in was a back pack. She caught her reflection and tugged the sleeves of her leather jacket down past her wrists more not wanting any one to see the rows of scars that lined her arms. Running her finger over one of them sent a harsh pang of sadness threw her chest and she snuck into the bathroom. She fixed her makeup since her eyes had gotten a little wet thinking about it and took a few more pills. She wasn't going to let anything ruin her day.
She walked out and checked her schedule and headed towards the direction of her film class feeling her nerves kick up bit. Once she arrived at the door she quietly looked in and noticed that no one else was in there. Smirking a little she bit her lip before stepping in. "Arent you supposed to say Action? Thats more cliche." She said with a small wink setting her stuff down at one of the desks leaning her guitar case against it carefully. She noticed her hands were shaking a bit so she shoved her hands in her pockets. It hadn't been to long since she last used but she had gotten used to the slight withdrawal feelings she would get when she stopped taking them for a day or 2. "I'm Star Valentine." Her pale cheeks blushed a little bit as she tucked a black loose curl behind her ear. She felt really happy and she really enjoyed it. She had to remember to take her uppers more often.

Mark looked up as his very first student entered the room. He smiled slightly at her remark, and shrugged. "You tell me, what kind of film maker wants to be cliche?" he remarked right back, looking the girl up and down. A rebel, with a guitar and a camera all together. Lovely. It was like a mixture between Maureen, Roger, and himself. He smiled slightly. At least she had her own camera. The school had cameras that they would assign students who couldn't afford one, but they were cheap and the films wouldn't be as good as a real camera would. Mark had two cameras, one that he had gotten for the school and one that was an authentic camera from the eighties, and that made actual film strips that you could cut and mix around and make good actual films...
Star Valentine? Oh. Right. Well, I had assigned seats, but I don't know if that would work well or not... You're my very first student. You tell me." he said, smiling as he found her name on his attendance sheet. It was so weird, being in the front of the classroom. Being the authority. He wasn't sure yet if he liked it. God knows, things had changed since he'd been in school. He didn't know if he'd be a good teacher or not. He wanted to be one all the kids liked, but respected at the same time. Like... well, like Collins. Although, even Collins wasn't exactly LISTENED to... if his complaints were anything to go by.
"God, I'm nervous." he said out loud, more to himself then to the girl in the room. Although, he guessed it worked towards her too. But weren't you never supposed to let them sense your fear? She didn't seem like the type to completely destroy a teacher's self esteem, she had come in cracking jokes after all. So, he didn't worry about it.

Star bit her lip deep in thought for a second before coming up with a good answer. "The Hollywood ones that are only in it for the money so their make their movies cliche to fit a certain target base so it will sell more tickets even if it isn't that good." She knew his comment was probably a rhetorical question but she didn't really care she felt like answering it any ways. She sat on the edge of her desk crossing one knee over the other, it made her legs look sleek and long which was nice cause she was a tad on the short side. She ruffled her hair a little looking around with a sigh. Where was everyone?
She looked at the clock on the wall and saw that there was only a few minutes left before class started and she was starting to think that she was going to be the only one in his class. Not like it would be a bad thing because then she would be able to learn faster and they could probably get a lot more projects done. She shrugged her jacket off and placed it on the back of the chair on her desk and smoothed her shirt down. It hugged her skin tight and showed off the fact she was a little on the slightly too thin side and the slight shivering was a bit more noticeable but she didn't really notice or care. People would think she was either Anorexic or a druggie, most likely anorexic cause she was thin but they were way off with that one.
Other then her weight and her arms which were covered you would never guess she was an addict because she was really pretty on the out side. Just not on the inside, she was a mess on the inside. She glanced around looking at the desks with a shrug. "I like open seating. But that's just mostly because sometimes i feel like being social and sitting in the front and sometimes I feel like being Anti-social and hiding in the back. You are the teacher though so it's up to you in the end." She smiled tucking another curl behind her ear. This was going to be a good year, she hoped it would at least. She felt a tugging at her heart as she lightly touched a gold locket around her neck. She wanted to make her parents proud so she was going to graduate.
She gave him a gentle and reassuring smile when he said he was nervous and wasn't sure if she was supposed to hear that or not. "Don't be nervous. I bet you will do fine. Just remember they are like the ocean. Don't turn your back on them or leave them alone and expect them to behave. But on the flip side its looking like you might only have one epicly awesome student for this class period." She smiled and shifted her position on the desk glancing around a bit. Well so much for social interaction but maybe there was the off chance that she could find a friend in her new teacher, he seemed pretty awesome and she wouldnt mind getting to know him more.

Mark didn't have the exact number of students in each class, just... all put together. Which would have bound to be confusing anyway. So when the bell rang and Star was the only one there... well, Mark breathed a sigh of relief. That'd make it easy. "Guess I don't have to worry after all. You can sit... well... anywhere." he said, gesturing to the empty classroom. God knew, he'd probably be full up next hour. So, he decided to make the best out of this class. he took a deep breath, and then nodded.
"Well, okay then. You have your own camera, right?" he asked, gesturing towards the camera bag she had brought. He then looked around and jumped onto his desk. "We could watch my film, or we could... just start working on yours.
(Crap post, but it's a post.)
